When Apple made that $500 billion announcement, I compared their previous two announcements that you noted and figured all they had done was update for inflation. Same investment rehashed & repeated at best. So, just corporate PR. I just couldn't find anything that showed what their actual capex and expenditures and hiring were for the US. Good work on finding what little they actually invested and how massively focused their 'investment' was on stock buy backs.
Makes my head spin. I assume we should be trying to cap stock buybacks. Or having them on separate line items? I am truly disappointed but not shocked. Thank you for the expose.
At least Steve Jobs was honest. When Obama asked him about making Apple products in the US, he simply replied, “Those jobs aren’t coming back.”
Nostalgia is not a policy. Green jobs could be, but government has to help, not wallow in denial.
If you tell a lie everyone wants to believe then there will be very little fact checking.

These oligarch/big money class sure are afraid of the people, everything we are fed is deceit.
Maybe just a little balance would go a long way in somehow everyone getting along.
We can only hope, protest for and demand from our Congress that stock buybacks are once again made illegal. (post 2026)
